A Braxton County man was arrested Saturday after breaking into a man's home and stealing his car after declaring he was God.

Central Regional Jail officials said West Virginia State Police arrested James David Maciak, 27, on charges of armed robbery, grand larceny and nighttime burglary.

Jail officials cited a complaint that stated Maciak was intoxicated when he forced entry into a man's home in Flatwoods on Saturday.

The complaint said Maciak punched the man in the face, declared he was God, grabbed the man's cell phone and keys and fled the scene.

Authorities said troopers then found Maciak at his home with the stolen car and blood on his hands.

Maciak is being held in the Central Regional Jail on $300,000 cash bond.
