Doddridge County 911 said three people have been taken to local hospitals after a two-vehicle accident Tuesday morning in West Union.

It happened at the intersection of Route 50 and Route 18 just after 5:45 a.m. shutting down both directions of Route 50.

The accident involved a bread delivery truck and a white pick-up truck.  The pick-up truck pulled out in front of the bread truck at the intersection, causing the accident.  Two people were taken by ambulance to United Hospital Center and one person was flown to Ruby Hospital.

Doddridge County Ambulance Authority, Smithburg and West Union Volunteer Fire Departments responded to the scene.

There is no word on the condition of drivers and passengers of the vehicles at this time.

The Doddridge County Sheriff's Department is investigating.
