Bridgeport Man Dead After Motorcycle Crash in Harrison County

West Virginia State Police are investigating a fatal two vehicle crash involving a motorcycle that happened Monday just before 12:30 p.m. on Sardis Road in Harrison County.

Healthnet was called to the scene and landed at Wilsonburg Elementary, although the driver of the motorcycle was transported to United Hospital Center in Bridgeport by ambulance due to not being in stable condition at the time of the flight.  

West Virginia State Police identified the motorcycle operator as Kevin Taylor, 41, of Bridgeport.  Taylor was later transferred to Ruby Memorial Hospital where he died undergoing surgery, family members confirmed Monday evening.   TFC. M.A. Bailey confirmed Taylor's death Tuesday morning.

West Virginia State Police said a Kia Sorento, driven by Claudia Knight, 33, of Wallace, crossed the center of the road and struck Taylor's motorcycle. Knight has not been cited at this time but TFC. M.A. Bailey said upon completion of his investigation, he will confer with the Harrison County Prosecutor's Office to determine if charges will be filed in the incident.

Fire Departments from Reynoldsville and Mount Clare responded to the scene along with Harrison County EMS.
