Posted: Updated:
The Lewis County Sheriff's Department is investigating a vehicle crash that happened Monday evening at the intersection of U.S. Route 19 and Interstate 79 in Roanoke.

Lewis County Sheriff's Department Sgt. Chad Moneypenney said Richard Mccadden, 84, of Lewis County, was driving a 2010 Subaru sedan south on Rt. 19 when Timothy Blake, 18, of Lewis County, driving a 1999 Mercedes, exited Interstate 79 on the southbound side, turned left onto Rt. 19 south and struck Mccadden's Subaru in a t-bone style collision.

Both Mccadden and Blake were treated at Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital in Weston.  Mccadden suffered minor injuries, was transported to the hospital, and died a short time after arriving at the emergency room, said Sgt. Moneypenny.  The sheriff's department is investigating the cause of Mccadden's death to determine if charges will be filed against Blake.  Blake was treated at the hospital for minor injuries and released.
