The Westover Police Department arrested two people on drug charges Saturday.

According to a press release sent by the department, Michelle Louise Wright, 34, and William Louis Wright, 37, were in a white Ford Explorer parked in an unsafe location near Holland Avenue and River Road on Saturday around 4 p.m.

When officers approached the vehicle, Michelle Wright seemed impaired and admitted to smoking synthetic marijuana. William Wright also admitted to having drug paraphernalia on his person.

Police said after William Wright was detained, Michelle Wright performed field sobriety tests and failed.

When both were in custody, a search of the vehicle was performed.

Officers said they discovered nearly $9,000 in cash, several ATM cards, nine packages of synthetic marijuana, a small container of a white powder, and other drug paraphernalia.

Both are in the North Central Regional Jail and charged with possession with intent, and conspiracy to commit a felony.

Bail is set for both individuals at $25,000.
