The Taylor County Sheriff's Department is investigating a head-on collision that sent two people to the hospital Sunday morning.

It happened around 11:15 a.m. on the Ivandale Straight stretch of Route 50, outside of Thornton, according to the Harrison/Taylor 911 Center.

HealthNet flew one person to Ruby Memorial Hospital, and Taylor County EMS took another person to a local hospital. No word on their names or conditions at this time.

Fire departments from Grafton and Thornton also responded to the scene.
