SBA Holds Quarterly Meeting, Tours Eastwood Elementary

Posted: Updated:

The West Virginia School Building Authority met at Eastwood Elementary to tour the building and have it's quarterly meeting on Monday.

Eastwood is the second green or sustainable school built in the state.

The summer meeting allows the board to see first hand what projects are going on in the state.

This was also the last meeting for Mark Manchin as the Executive Director.

He will be taking on the role of school Superintendent in Harrison County.

“As you walk around and you see children really enjoy it, and teachers enjoying it, and everybody excited about it, it creates an enthusiasm that otherwise wouldn't be there. It's been great, but now it's time to move onto some new things and I'm excited about that too,” said Manchin.

Manchin will assume the role of Superintendent on July 1 this year.
