4th of July Festivities in North Central WV

All events are on July 4 unless noted otherwise.

Barbour County

Fireworks display to begin at 10 p.m. at the Barbour County Fairgrounds on July 4.  Gates will open at 7 p.m. Click here for more information.King Knob Freedom Fest at King Knob Off Road Park in Philippi on July 4 and July 5.  Gates open at 9 a.m. on July 4 and at 8 a.m. on July 5.

Harrison County

Bridgeport

Fireworks will be set off by Bridgeport's Water Tanks.  People can park by Big Lots and Home Depot to watch.  Bring lawn chairs. Fireworks will begin at dark, approximately 9 p.m. on July 3.


Shinnston

Independence Day Celebration in Shinnston on July 1 

The pool will be open from 12 to 6 p.m., inflatables will be open at 4 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.  Band "Fifth Gear" will be playing at approximately 8 p.m. and the Shinnston Community Band concert begins at 9 p.m.  Fireworks will begin between 10 and 10:15 p.m.

Vehicle access to the top of the park will close at 4 for firework setup with limited foot traffic permitted within marked areas.  Ferguson Street will close at 5 p.m.

Lewis County

The Weston 4th of July parade in downtown Weston will begin with lineup on July 4 at 4 p.m. and the parade is slated to begin at 5 p.m.

The Weston Fire Department's annual 4th of July Celebration on Friday, July 4th at the RLBMS field. Naming of the Flame Queen will take place at the Weston Fire Department just before the parade line up. Following the parade, crowning of the new Lewis County Flame Queen on the field and the Fireman's Rodeo. The fireworks will start at dusk.

Fireworks and live music are scheduled for July 5 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Roanoke Activity Plaza at Stonewall Resort.  Wyatt Turner is scheduled to perform, followed by a lakeside fireworks show.

Fairview - The town of Fairview will observe Independence Day with an old-fashioned celebration on Friday, July 4, 2014. Festivities include the Ray Hedrick 5K Fun Run, the grand parade at 10 a.m., a concert by the Fairview Community Band followed by entertainment from students of the Fairmont State University Academy for the Arts, and a speaking program with guest speaker Mr. Jim Slade at 1 p.m. Slade is a Morgantown native with family connections to Fairview whose work as a journalist and science correspondent spans fifty years and three different companies. Following the speaking program, games and contests for all ages, including a cake walk, will be provided.

The remainder of the evening includes entertainment featuring local musicians in an "Acoustic Jam Session" and music from Kingdom Calling, Almost a Song, and Jenna Won't Sing. Fireworks will begin at 10 p.m.  Throughout the day, several community organizations will sell concessions; otherwise, all activities are free of charge.  For more information, click here.

The City of Mannington and Mannington Main Street are preparing for the annual fourth of July Celebration on Friday July 4th starting with the downtown Independence Parade at 3 p.m. and ending festivities at Hough Park in Mannington.  For more information, click here.

Triple S Harley Davidson Pavilion is hosting Colt Ford at 8 p.m. on July 4 with fireworks to follow. Click here for more information.

Morgantown will host its 4th of July celebration beginning at 11 a.m. on July 4 at Hazel Ruby McQuain park. Fireworks will begin at 9:45 p.m. Click here for more information.
