San Diego roaster has secured Panama Elida Estate direct trade coffee and rare Geisha Esmerelda Estate.

La Jolla, Calif. (PRWEB) June 30, 2014

Specialty coffee retailer, Bird Rock Coffee Roasters, announced today their newest offering from Panama, directly traded from the Elida Estate. The coffee was secured between coffee farmer Wilford Lamastus and owner of Bird Rock Coffee Roasters, Chuck Patton, during a direct trade coffee trip in March 2014. The coffee is available now until supplies last, most likely through the end of the summer. The Panama Elida Estate is $25.99 per 12 oz bag and can be purchased in store or online. Chuck Patton describes the Panama Elida Estate as rich and creamy with notes of guava, strawberry and tropical fruits.

Bird Rock Coffee Roasters has also secured two different rare Geisha coffees from La Esmeralda farm, known for producing excellent Geisha varietals. Bird Rock Coffee Roasters is one of the few roasters in America and the only roaster in San Diego to receive this coffee lot.

"One of the greatest rewards of my job is to source the best coffee in the world and bring it to San Diego," said Chuck Patton, owner of Bird Rock Coffee Roasters. "The Panama Elida Estate stood out to me as the best coffee I cupped during our direct trade trip. As far as the Geisha is concerned, not only is it one of the rarest coffees in the world, it is even more remarkable that we are among only a few cities in the US to secure these two lots."

Two Geisha lots will be roasted on site and available at the end of July:

1) A washed Geisha, which has notes of jasmine, orange, citrus, and is very sweet. 2) A natural processed Geisha, which means the coffee berry is dried in the fruit, resulting in a complex coffee with notes of dried fruit, berries, raspberry jam, peaches and jasmine. Both Geisha varietals will be $100.00 per 16 oz bag.
