Clarksburg City Council met Wednesday evening and completed a final reading of a bond to authorize the city to be able to design, construction and equipment improvements to the water and sewer systems from Horner Avenue to Kramer Drive in Clarksburg.

Council approved the bond for the project cost of $5,500,000 dollars to fund the project for water and sewer line replacement.

“Its one of the largest infrastructure projects that we have ever done in the City of Clarksburg and these improvements will not only help the existing sewer system, but it also ties into the project we’re doing on Chestnut Street so it’s all interrelated,” Said Cathy Goings, Clarksburg Mayor

Goings also said the city is doing a major rebuilding of Chestnut Street, and that the city has committed a substantial amount of money to the project, and the state is willing to step up provide additional funding for the project.
