BridgeValley Community and Technical College Signs Articulation Agreements with WVSU

Posted: Updated:

BridgeValley Community and Technical College (BCTC) signed “2+2” transfer agreements for their business programs on June 18.

A student can now obtain an Associate of Applied Science in Accounting, Finance, Healthcare Management, Management, or Marketing at BCTC and then transfer to West Virginia State University (WVSU) to complete their Bachelor of Applied Science or their Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.

The “2+2” agreement was designed to clearly articulate the first two years of study at BCTC and then the remaining two years at WVSU. This enables a student to see how their credit transfers into WVSU in obtainment of their Bachelor’s degree.

“Signing this agreement shows the partnership between our institutions to provide a seamless career pathway for students from an associate degree to bachelorette degree,” said Megan Lorenz, Dean of Business & Legal Studies.

BridgeValley Community and Technical College was founded on March 20, 2014, after the consolidation of Bridgemont and Kanawha Valley Community and Technical Colleges. Existing campus locations will be maintained in Montgomery and South Charleston, along with the addition of the new Advanced Technology Center.

BridgeValley awards one-year certificates and two-year associate degrees in many fields including accounting, finance, management, healthcare management, marketing, and administrative professional technology.
