The town of Hurricane in Putnam County is rooting for a hometown boy at the Greenbrier Classic.

Brian Anania, 22, won the 2014 West Virginia Amateur, which automatically advanced him into this year's classic.

Anania played for Hurricane High School and then received a full-ride scholarship to play golf at Marshall University.

His parents say getting to see him play in the PGA FedExCup Tournament, is extremely nerve-racking.

"To be honest with you, we're just enjoying the moment," Brian's father, Geno Anania said. "Trying not to think about watching him on that first hole. We're hoping he hits a good one. Once he gets that first shot out of the way, he'll be good."

Brian will tee off Friday in the Greenbrier Classic's Round Two at 9 a.m. on hole 10.
