BRIDGEPORT -

Connecting Link of Harrison County is holding "build a backpack" in preparation for the start of school.

Many local organizations and businesses are contributing items to the program.

One of those is West Virginia Junior College.

The Medical and IT clubs at the school are currently collecting donations to give to Connecting Link.

Those items range from backpacks to pencils, calculators, and more.

“In addition to backpacks we are accepting common school items: pens, pencils, binders, paper, filler paper, rulers, really just your common classroom stuff. Anyone who would like donate items for the backpack giveaway can drop them off here at the school or they can call and get more information. We'll be accepting items until July 27,” explained Aaron Jones, the IT Coordinator at WVJC.

Items can be dropped off at the school, or you can call the front desk for more information: 304-842-4007.

You can also call Medical Club president Tonya Miller at 304-966-6643 for more information.
