West Virginia Students Selected for Special Cancer Research Center

Posted: Updated:
MORGANTOWN - Four college students, out of thousands at West Virginia University, were chosen to complete a ten week program.

The students spent three weeks helping a cancer researcher with their work.

Each student is chosen to get lab work experience and present their findings at the end of the program.

The presentation was held on Wednesday at the Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center.

“Many of them will have the opportunities, if they’ve progressed in their research, to present at national meetings. So, this is a great experience because it gives them a glimpse of what it’s like to be a cancer researcher and what it is involved in that process,” said Linda Davis, Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center.

Caryn Griffin, Yuya Kudo, Jame Fugett, and Alissa Sun were the four students selected to participate in the program.
