3-year-old Released from Hospital Following Self-inflicted Gunshot Wound

A three-year-old shot himself in the foot on early Thursday morning.

The Harrison County Sheriff’s Department said he has been released from Ruby Hospital after being treated for his wound. Deputies said he is doing well.

The shooting is still under investigation. The Sheriff’s Department commented that if the shooting appears accidental, no charges will be filed.

A 3-year-old boy was taken to the hospital Thursday morning after an accidental shooting in Harrison County. 

It happened just after 1:45 a.m. on Bridge Street in Shinnston.

The Harrison County Sheriff's Department said the 3-year-old boy accidentally shot himself in the foot.

The boy was taken to United Hospital Center by Harrison County EMS.

The Harrison County Sheriff's Department is investigating the incident.

The Shinnston Fire and Police Departments also responded to the scene.
