BRIDGEPORT -

The annual Whale of a Rummage Sale will start on Friday at Bridgeport United Methodist Church.

The rummage sale features a variety of items including clothes, shoes, dishes, furniture, games, jewelry, and much more.

The proceeds from the rummage sale go to local organizations.

“Our proceeds are donated locally within the tri-county area and some extended areas based on need and the requests we get. Whatever we don't sell will be donated to the Clarksburg Mission and they are thrilled to be able to come and pick up what we are not able to sell,” explained Sally Altman, co-chair of the rummage sale.

Friday the sale will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Saturday and Monday will have the same hours, with Monday being half-price day.

Tuesday is 'super bag day' from 9 a.m. to noon.

Customers will be able to fill a brown paper grocery bag full, for just two dollars.

The Bridgeport United Methodist Church is located at 251 Worthington Drive in Bridgeport.

This is the 48th year for the sale.
