ELKINS - Randolph County Schools is working with Elkins Police to identify who vandalized parts of Elkins High School over the weekend.

Superintendent Terry George said the vandalism happened early Saturday morning.

The vandals used spray paint to deface several parts of the school with numbers and offensive language.

George said they have a couple of leads, and are working with police to enhance video of the incident.

Charges could soon be filed, according to officials.

About 98 percent of the graffiti has been cleaned up, George said.

George said the vandalism was very disturbing, as it was an exciting time as students returned to school.

Schools opened for the new year in Randolph County last Thursday.
