WBOY STORMTRACKER 12 WEATHER SYNOPSIS:
A sluggish low pressure system lifts through the Central Appalachians Tuesday into Wednesday. Mainly cloudy, cooler conditions stick with us Tuesday into Wednesday with off/on rain showers. Without the extra sunshine, temperatures will be notably cooler, upper 50s and low 60s at best, slightly cooler than average for this time of year. Gusty easterly winds will add a bit of a chill to the air with peak winds in the 35 MPH range. Those winds may still produce some minor problems like a downed tree limb or a power outage.
While some locations will begin to clear out with increasing sunshine along the departing low pressure disturbance Thursday, some of our mountain counties will keep lingering cloudiness and stubborn drizzle into Thursday morning. Conditions will remain rather cool, 30s by sunrise Thursday. However, with increasing sunshine, highs manage low 60s.
Friday will start mainly sunny and dry as high pressure briefly regains control of our area with highs in the mid 60s. However another weather impulse will lift northward along the spine of the Appalachians, tossing some clouds & a few meager showers our way, mainly in the afternoon and evening.
Tranquil weather lingers into the first part of the weekend before another fast-moving weather impulse drops in from the Great Lakes with cooler temperatures. This system lacks abundant moisture, so only a few clouds are expected.
Outstanding weather will develop Sunday into early next week with steady warming and a mainly dry streak.
