WBOY STORMTRACKER 12 WEATHER SYNOPSIS:
Strong low pressure lifting east-northeastward through the Lower Great Lakes remains the main weather-maker for us today.
It's a mild start with temperatures in the upper 40s/low 50s, warm enough for all rain for now. Those spring rain showers move away from the area early Tuesday morning in the wake of this latest cold front. We'll manage a few hours of dry weather during the mid-morning before warp around moisture brings more clouds, intermittent rains and gusty west winds. Look for falling temperatures during the rest of the day.
Wet snow will mix into the mountains just after the lunch hour and will continue throughout the afternoon. While there may not be much accumulation, there would be enough to cover the roads and a few slick spots are likely in those mountains Tuesday evening into Wednesday.
Temperatures continue to fall by daybreak Wednesday. It'll be cool enough for some snow, especially in the eastern mountains where a couple inches will add up into the early afternoon hours. Chilly temperatures struggling through the mid 30s will feel colder on the northwest breeze. But the mercury will still be near normal for late-January.
Drier air will filter in finally arrive by Thursday. It'll be chilly in the morning but afternoon temperatures will be centered near the 40 degree marker. Warmer still by Friday with a few showers into the weekend.
