The 11th annual Run to Read Half Marathon was held at Pricketts Fort State Park Sunday afternoon.
Over 250 Runners and walkers from 14 different states, braved the cold Sunday, on their 13.1 mile run. The event benefits Literacy Volunteers of Marion County. This was one of two fundraisers that they hold annually.
“We provide tutoring to adults and children in reading, math and English as a second language. The tutoring is one-on-one, it’s free, confidential, and it’s learning centered,” said Jim Woolfitt, of the Literacy Volunteers of Marion County.
This was one of two fundraisers held annually by the Literacy Volunteers of Marion County. Marion County Parks and Recreation Commission are major sponsors of both.
