A local university has been rated as one of the top online schools in the state.
BestColleges.com added Alderson Broaddus University to that list.
AB was included in part for its new B.S.N to R.N. program that is entirely over the web.
University officials said the emphasis on online programs is part of an effort to reach students in a more convenient way.
“What do students need in order to prepare themselves for workforce advancement in their own careers? So we try to serve their needs, and that’s been a demand among students, again, adult learners as well as our traditional college-age students,” said Andrea Bucklew, associate provost.
AB looks to offer other online classes in coming months for both adult and traditional students.
