The FBI and members of the Harrison and Lewis County sheriff’s departments executed a search warrant at a Jane Lew business, Wednesday in connection to a 1999 murder case.

Authorities were on scene at the Robin’s Nest Travel Center, most of the day, looking for evidence in the disappearance of Maxine Stalnaker and Mary Friend.  Investigators did not find anything unusual, according to the travel center’s manager.

It is unclear exactly what authorities were looking for.  Calls to authorities have not been returned yet.

Joseph Metz and Charles Freeman are set to face murder charges in the case next month.  Stalnaker and Friend’s bodies have not been found.
