Monday, Susan Stuart, president and CEO of CORE (The Center for Organ Recovery & Education) joined Ruby Memorial Hospital representatives to raise a “Donate Life” flag outside of the hospital.
This was to to raise awareness about the importance of organ, tissue and cornea donation. More than 121,000 people are waiting for an organ transplant nationally, including nearly 500 West Virginians.
The Center for Organ Recovery & Education (CORE) is one of 58 federally designated not-for-profit organ procurement organizations in the United States.
This was part of National Donate Life Month.
