The National Rail to Trails opening day was held across the United States on Saturday.
In Harrison County, the North View Rail Trail was officially opened, which has been closed for several years.
The community is now able to ride or walk from North View to Spelter. Two herbalists offered herbal walks to show wildflowers and medicinal herbs throughout the trails.
“We’re looking to get people out there, build our communities, working more into that healthier lifestyle and enjoying the trail beauty also,” said Diana Druga, president of Harrison Rail Trails.
A booth was also set up to introduce Geocaching, where players use a mobile app to find hidden containers with small trinkets planted around the world.
