Leap Year Babies Celebrate First Real Birthday

If you love birthdays sometimes it’s difficult to wait a whole year for yours to come, so imagine having to wait four years.

Iris and Siri Jaggie are four years old, but they celebrated their first real birthday on Monday night. These Leap Year babies made the most of it with a party at Skate World in Bridgeport.

“I’d had some people ask me if we were going to do a first birthday themed party, which I didn’t want to do that,” said Erica Jaggie, Siri and Iris’s mother. “It’s a little bit bigger deal on the years they actually get to have a real birthday.”

The twins do celebrate their birthday every year, but this special one came with endless laps around the rink with their family and friends, pizza, and of course their favorite cake and presents.

“We kind of agreed that we would do March 1st instead of February 28th only because I feel like on the years that it’s not leap year if they got to celebrate on the 28th  then on the years that it is leap year they might feel like they’re getting cheated not getting to celebrate on the 28th and having to wait till the next day,” Erica Jaggie said.
