Main Street Yoga in Fairmont is now offering “Young Yogis” classes for children.
This introduces kids to yoga at a young age, allowing them to develop focus and concentration, as well as balance and coordination.
Poses are centered around animals and stories while still involving exercise.
Classes rotate every Saturday of the month between a three to eight-year-old and eight to 12-year-old class.
“It’s really great for them because it teaches them about their breath, it teaches them about body awareness, and also flexibility of course and toning the muscles. It’s just a really fun way for them to do a physical activity, which is really good to get them moving and going. They enjoy it, they love it,” said Sheray Efaw, instructor.
Main Street Yoga also has special yoga mats for sale designed just for children to go along with the theme of the class.
