Marion County has a new litter control officer.
Kenny Ice was sworn in today at the County Clerk’s Office.
Ice went through a nominating process with the Solid Waste Authority Board and County Commission approved the hire.
Ice said he wants to remove the burden from the Division of Natural Resources to clean up trash and illegal dump sites.
“I decided to ride around with officer Clark & Officer Coaches of DNR and there’s a lot more trash out there than we know about. So, after seeing it firsthand, it needs cleaned up and they need help cleaning it up. So, I was interested and here I am,” said Ice.
