Mon County Child Advocacy Center Launches ‘No Shave for the Brave’

The Mon County Child Advocacy Center is encouraging men to ditch their razor for the month of November.

They will be launching their ‘No Shave for the Brave’ campaign.

This campaign will allow those participating to spur powerful conversations about child abuse and recruit friends and family to support their beard-growing.

Men will be invited to shave their beards and pose for the 2018 Brave and Bearded calendar at a celebration held at the end of the month.

“Child abuse is a crime of secrecy. We know that it thrives in an environment of denial and fear and so this is a way that we’re hoping to work with community members to raise awareness about this public health issue, and specifically to work with men in our community to raise awareness about this issue that does plague our community,” said Marissa Russell, Mon County Child Advocacy Center.
