The Morgantown Police Department will be altering traffic patterns on Don Knots Boulevard by the Morgantown Event Center this weekend for West Virginia University’s commencement activities.
The southbound lane will be restricted to one lane from 6 a.m.-7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
On Friday, commencement activities will begin at 3 p.m. For the evening, traffic lights will be controlled by officers assisting with traffic flow.
Police ask motorists to use alternate routes during the commencement activities to reduce traffic backup. Motorists are also asked to be courteous to other motorists and be aware of officers assisting with traffic flow.
Traffic patterns will be returned to normal as soon as possible following the ceremonies, police said.
