Earlier this week, the North Central West Virginia Airport sent out a request for bids to potential airlines. All of the bids are to be returned by the first week of July.
The director of the airport said the process is quick and the airport should have an airline finalized by August. After an airline is finalized, the airport can begin selling tickets in August and customers can expect to fly to the airline’s destinations by October 1.
Rick Rock, director of the NCWV Airport, said a lot goes into picking an airline.
“You want to find someone that is obviously reliable. They have a history of reliability. They have a history of well-maintained aircraft, professional staff, support systems, people who have been a history of success basically.” said Rock.
The airport will hold a press conference in July to let the public about the new airline and its offerings.
