Ohio Man Arrested After Armed Robbery in Weston & Fatal Accident in Marion County

A 33-year-old Ohio man was arrested in relation to an armed robbery near the CVS and Rite Aid in Weston and a fatal accident in Marion County Thursday afternoon.

Ryan Hubbs allegedly pointed a gun at a woman and stole her vehicle near the CVS and Rite Aid stores in Weston, according to the Weston Police Department. Hubbs, then, was involved in a fatal accident in the White Hall area of Marion County leading to his arrest, police said.

Weston Police received a call about a suspicious vehicle blocking the drive-through lane and a suspicious man walking between the CVS and Rite Aid at approximately 12:30 p.m. When they arrived on scene, a woman told them Hubbs had pointed a gun at her and stolen her vehicle.

A BOLO was immediately issued, police said, and a warrant was issued for Hubbs arrest after the Weston Police Department was able to confirm his identity.

Weston Police were later notified that Hubbs was involved in a fatal accident in Marion County in the stolen vehicle.

Hubbs was transported to United Hospital Center and taken into custody by the Bridgeport Police Department on the warrant obtained by Weston Police. The White Hall Police Department, the Lewis County Sheriff’s Department, and West Virginia State Police were also involved in the investigation.

Hubbs is charged with armed robbery.
