Ohio Man Arrested After Police Find Drugs in Teddy Bear at Motel


An Ohio man was arrested after police said they found a variety of illegal drugs in his Kingwood motel room.

After receiving a drug complaint at the Heldreth Motel in Kingwood, West Virginia State Police said they found Richard Hayes, 35, of Akron, Ohio, in possession of drugs. Police found approximately five grams of heroin, nine grams of crack cocaine, 23 grams of marijuana, three sublingual pills and a large amount of cash.

Police found the drugs divided into several small bags and concealed in a teddy bear in Hayes’ vehicle. 

Hayes is charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and two counts of conspiracy to commit a felony.
