A Pittsburgh woman was arrested Sunday after deputies say she smuggled drugs into a prison in Preston County.
Tia Mader, 32, passed off what is suspected to be synthetic marijuana, Suboxone and tobacco to a male inmate during visitation at FCI Hazelton, according to the Preston County Sheriff’s Department.
A special investigator at FCI Hazelton gathered video evidence showing Mader passing off the contraband to the inmate. The video also showed a deformity in the inmate’s front pocket after the exchange.
The inmate was taken into custody following visitation, and the contraband was found in his anal cavity.
Mader is charged with possession with intent to deliver. She is currently in the Tygart Valley Regional Jail, in lieu of $30,000 bond.
