Randolph County Commission signed an emergency declaration for the upcoming storm.

The declaration gives the Office of Emergency Management that authority to activate necessary resources.

The county’s OEM director says the county is reviewing sheltering, wellness checks, traffic patterns, and special needs and requests for the worst case scenario.

“Open our emergency operations plan, tested it, revised it, and when we ready. I don’t your really, really ready for a storm, but we’re ready as we can be,” said Cindy Hart, director of Randolph County OEM.

Hart said the county has shelters available if needed. Its emergency operations center will be staffed 24 hours for the duration of the storm if needed.
