A Downtown Task Force is developing in Morgantown.
John Sonnenday, executive director of the Coordinating Council on Homelessness, is overseeing the task force.
It will benefit all aspects of downtown life, including business owners, low income families and others who enjoy the city.
One of the group’s goals is to create more respect between community members.
“I believe that most behavior and fears people have come from not understanding the other,” said Eve Faulkes, task force member. “So, if we can make a place that allows people to learn about each other, be mixed more, then we can find solutions that make everybody win and everybody happier.”
The new task force is still in its planning stages. Faulkes said the group’s next project is to screen residents who frequent Morgantown. Anyone interested in participating should contact the Coordinating Council on Homelessness at firstname.lastname@example.org.
