UPDATE: Deputies Search for Suspect After Blacksville Dollar General Robbery


UPDATE (4/27 at 10 a.m.)

The Monongalia County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a suspect in relation to the robbery at the Blacksville Dollar General Sunday night.

A white male, approximately 5’10” to 6’1″, wearing a gray sweatshirt, blue jeans, a black toboggan, black gloves and a bandana and carrying a baseball bat told two clerks to go back into the store as they were leaving for the evening.

The suspect took off on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. A K-9 tracking dog was called to the scene to determine where the suspect ran, but the suspect was not located.

No one was injured in the incident.

The Monongalia County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a Sunday night reported armed robbery at a Blacksville business.

It happened around 11 p.m. at the Dollar General located on Mason Dixon Highway or Route 7, according to Mecca 911 dispatchers.

No further details of the incident have been released.
