The Westside Action Coalition gathered with the Fostering Fairmont Project Friday at Morning Star Church.
Fostering Fairmont is West Virginia University faculty and students who are doing outreach and service learning work in support of the Westside Action Coalition.
Community visioning and planning sessions are hosted regularly to develop a Neighborhood Quality Life Plan.
The Westside action coalition consists of residents in five Fairmont neighborhoods working to make it a better place to live.
“Basically what we’re trying to do is get a sense of what people envision for the future and the types of issues that come up during these conversations help us figure out what types of expertise we need to bring into the process when we get into more detailed planning,
said Margaret Stout, Fostering Fairmont Project.
These community conversations are the first step toward developing a shared vision.
