The WVU Office of Student Employment is celebrating the 2nd Annual National Student Employment Week.
Each year, colleges and universities across the country recognize the importance of the student work experience during this week.
The kick-off celebration was in the Mountainlair Ballrooms today, recognizing the 2016 Student Employee of the Year Award winner Scott Harper was announced.
All supervisors are encouraged to take this opportunity during National Student Employment Week to thank their student employees and let them know that they are valued.
“A lot of Universities, their largest population of staff is actually their student workers. So we really want to celebrate the hard work that our thousands of students do every day and this is just a week for them to have their supervisors do some nice things for them. We do this little kick off celebration, come by, relax.” said Amy Diznoff, program manager for WVU Student Employment.
Student employment offers students career-enhancing opportunities, the ability to develop skills relevant in any career and better preparation for the job market upon graduation.
