Amanda Mueller joined the 12 News team as an evening anchor in March 2020. She’s known she wanted to be a journalist since fourth grade, when she wrote a hard-hitting expose for the school’s newspaper on the weirdest things janitors find in the school’s garbage.
Amanda was born in Baltimore, but grew up in Amish county Lancaster, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Penn State and worked as an associate producer at WGAL Channel 8 in Lancaster, before becoming an executive producer and in-studio reporter at FOX43 in York, Pennsylvania.
She also spent 2 years in Philadelphia public relations, and worked as a weekend traffic reporter for KYW there.
Most recently, she worked as an anchor and reporter in Evansville, Indiana.
When she’s not on-air, you can find Amanda paddling towards her goal of kayaking in all 50 states, working outside in her garden, or getting lost in the woods. Wherever she goes, her rescue dog, Porter, isn’t far behind. Of course she found him while researching (what else?) a news story.
