Sam is in his third year as Gold and Blue Nation’s digital content manager. You may not see him on air, but you’ll see his work all over the web and social media!
A native of Rochester, New York, Sam is a proud graduate of McQuaid Jesuit High School. He went on to study broadcast journalism at WVU’s Reed College of Media, gaining on-air experience while working with U92 FM and WVUNews, and taking internships covering WVU’s men’s basketball team and the football team. Sam also contributed to the Mountaineer News Service, working on local interest stories He contributed two years on the Sigma Nu executive board and spent time interning with WVU football’s recruiting department as a freshman.
After graduating in 2018, Sam immediately began his career with Nexstar as the digital content manager for WTRF in Wheeling after graduating in 2018. Sam gained plenty of experience in the Upper Ohio Valley working on a wide array of stories, but it wasn’t long before the country roads took him home — a year later, he returned to Morgantown to join the Gold and Blue Nation crew in covering the Mountaineers.
Sam is an avid sports fan and can always be found vocally supporting his hometown sports teams in Buffalo. When there isn’t a game on, Sam will most likely be found enjoying some chicken wings, playing a round of golf, enjoying (or adding to) his vinyl record collection, or spending time with his dog, Mattea.
You can see Sam on Twitter at @SamConiglio, but of course, he strongly encourages you to give Gold and Blue Nation a follow as well for all of the latest on the Mountaineers!
