The WVU Mountaineers Baseball Team will host the TCU Horned Frogs in a three-game home series this weekend at the Monongalia County Ballpark. The 25th Annual Cheat River Festival will be held on Friday and Saturday in Albright. This event is held each year on the first weekend in May. Gates will open Friday night from 5 – 10:30 p.m. with music starting at 5:30 p.m. and Saturday from 11:30 a.m. – 11 p.m. with music starting at noon. Get tickets here.
The Welsh May Day Festival will be held at the Monongalia Arts Center on Saturday from 1 – 11 p.m. This event is held in collaboration with the Morgantown History Museum and will feature stories from the West Virginia Storytelling Guild, a crankie workshop and a square dance session.
Saturday – Sunday (May 4 – 5)
The The Jane Lew Fire Department is hosting its annual Arts & Crafts Festival on Saturday and Sunday. Admission is free and doors open at 10 a.m. The event will be held at the Jane Lew Fire Department. Food will be held al day on both days.
The Clarksburg History Museum will be open this weekend featuring its newest exhibit, the WV Fossil Club. The museum will be open from 12 – 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
Friday (May 3)
Clarksburg Community Action and the city of Clarksburg will be hosting Clarksburg’s First Friday from 6 – 9 p.m. on Friday. The event will feature live music, artisans, food, activities and more.
The Clarksburg Mission will host the 16th Annual Spring Gala: A Night of Hope on Friday from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. The event will be held at the Bridgeport Conference Center. Tickets are $75 and can be purchased online here.
The Doddridge County Park’s latest Moonlight Movie event will be held on Friday at 8:30 p.m. The movie being shown is “Ralph Breaks the Internet. Story time and crafts will begin at 7:30 p.m.
Elkins Main Street willbe hosting a First Friday event on Friday from 5 – 7 p.m. on Friday.
Saturday (May 4)
Operation Firm Handshake will host a “Day of Recognition” honoring Veterans and their families for their sacrifices and service to our country. Come out and join the fun, food, and festivities in downtown Lost Creek.
Girls on the Run 5k will be held in Morgantown. The program inspires girls to recognize their inner strength and celebrate what makes them one of a kind.
Morgantown Farmers Market opens in Downtown Morgantown. More than 40 local vendors will offer products from area farms.
Morgantown Brewing Company is hosting a celebration of the best and the brightest IPAs in the state of West Virginia. DANKFEST starts at 1p.m.
American Heart Association will host its Annual Morgantown Heart Walk at the WVU Coliseum.
The Marion County Board of Education will be collaborating with the West Virginia Literacy Campaign for the 3rd Annual Marion County Family Literacy Fair. The fair will take place at the Fairmont Senior Fieldhouse, next to the Board of Education office from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Johnson Elementary School Color Jam is a 5K fun run with color. The event supports the school’s PTA.
Calling all kayak and canoe enthusiasts! It’s time for the Annual Great Buffalo Canoe Race. Registration starts at 8 am at Hough Park and the race begins at 9 a.m. The race ends at the walking bridge in Farmington and there’ll be a small reception at the Farmington Fire Dept following the race.
Spring Into Action 2019 from 11 to 3 p.m. at Veteran’s Square downtown Fairmont. Bring the whole family for fun activities, entertainment, and giveaways.
The Young Eagles will be hosting an event at the Elkins airport. The group will provide free flights from 2 p.m. until all the kids have had a ride or there is no more light left in the day. Kids ages 8 to 17 are invited to take part in a free flight and enjoy a free hot dog!
Sunday (May 5)
An Intimate Evening with Tracy Lawrence will be held at the Creative Arts Center Lyell B Clay Theatre. Doors open at 6p.m.
