Residents in Tucker County greeted the beautiful weather early this morning and put their canoes and kayaks on the Cheat River.
Blackwater Outdoor Adventures (BOA) in Tucker County hosted it’s fifth annual Earth Day Water Trail Clean-Up. Volunteers suited up for the cold waters and headed out in style to gather trash along the river.
“Sometimes flooding will clean up the river a little bit, and sometimes it will mess up the river a little bit. This is our fifth year doing it. We’ve gotten a lot of the trash out of the river, already, and the fortunate thing is that the river is already pretty clean,” said BOA Owner/Operator Patrick McCann.
Owners said they were happy to have so many volunteers and will continue to host the annual event to keep the waters clean.
