1 person dies in Marion County house fire

MONTANA MINES, W.Va. – A firefighter on scene confirmed with 12 News that one person died in a house fire late Wednesday night into Thursday morning in Marion County.

According to 911 officials, the fire began just before midnight on Lofty Lane in the Montana Mines area.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Department, and volunteer fire departments from Winfield, Valley, Bunners Ridge, and Boothsville, along with the Marion County Rescue Squad all responded to the scene.

There is no word at this time on what caused the fire.  Stick with 12 News for any new developments.
