Bridgeport school suffers water damage

Emergencies

Heavy rain over the weekend led to structure damage Monday morning at a Bridgeport school.

Heritage Christian School is closed due to roof damage.

Bridgeport Fire officials said ceilings inside the school were starting to collapse, and all three floors experienced damage after water accumulated on the roof overnight Monday and over the weekend.

School officials said they plan to secure an alternate location and hope to hold classes later in the week.

Utilities at the school have been secured.
