Crews respond to house fire in Clarksburg

Crews responded to a house fire Tuesday afternoon in Clarksburg.

According to the Clarksburg Fire Department, the fire broke out at 1:42 for a house on Fairview Avenue.

One person was home at the time but was able to make it out safely, officials said. One cat and one dog were killed in the fire, according to officials.

Officials said there was also minimal damage to a neighboring house.

The Clarksburg Fire Department, Clarksburg Police Department, and Harrison County EMS all responded to the call.

The house is considered a total loss. Crews will investigate the fire.
