Driver entrapped after cars collide on Route 50 in Ritchie County

Crews responded to a two-vehicle accident on Route 50 near the Ritchie County, Wood County line on Thursday morning.

Just before 10:30 a.m., a dump truck and van collided, trapping the driver of the van inside, according to officials.

Officials said one man was transported by Ritchie County EMS to Camden Clark Medical Center. 

Cairo, Ellenboro and Deerwalk Fire Departments, Ritchie County Ambulance and West Virginia State Police responded to the scene.

The West Virginia State Police Department is currently investigating.
