Fire destroys house in Farmington

Crews responded to a two story house fire on Chatham Hill Road in Farmington Wednesday afternoon.

According to 911 officials, the call came in shortly before 3:30 p.m.

Jim Toothman, Safety Officer with the Farmington Volunteer Fire Department, stated that no one was home at the time of the fire, and no injuries have been reported.

Toothman said the cause of the fire is undetermined at this time.

Crews from the Farmington Volunteer Fire Department, Fairview Volunteer Fire Department, Worthington Fire Department, Barrackville Volunteer Fire Department, Grant Town Volunteer Fire Department, Mannington Volunteer Fire Department, Monongah Volunteer Fire Department, Bunners Ridge Volunteer Fire Department, Winfield District Volunteer Fire Department, Rivesville Volunteer Fire Department and the Marion County Rescue Squad were on scene.

Toothman also stated that the house is considered a total loss.
