Multiple people transported after two-vehicle accident on Route 50 in Harrison County

Crews responded to a two-vehicle accident Thursday evening on Route 50 in Harrison County.

According to 911 officials, the call came in shortly after 5:45.  Officials said a Dodge pickup truck was pulling out from Sun Valley Road onto Route 50 when a Chevy Impala t-boned the truck in the intersection.

Medical helicopters flew two people to Ruby Memorial Hospital.  Three other people went to United Hospital Center via ambulance.  There is no word at this time on their names or conditions.

Harrison County EMS, Salem EMS, Bridgeport EMS, and fire departments from Reynoldsville and Stonewood responded to the scene.

Route 50 is now open all lanes both directions.

The Harrison County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the collision.
