Bridgeport Police have arrested a man accused of making threats towards an area movie theater.

The Bridgeport Police Department said in a statement that it received a call on Friday, March 2 at 10:00 p.m. from concerned employees at the Cinemark Theater at Meadowbrook Mall regarding a social media post on Snapchat.

Police said 18-year old Mason James Taylor posed a picture on Snapchat of the theater lobby with text that said “Instead of shooting up schools, how about we start shooting up movie theaters? First one’s on me.”

Taylor was taken into custody and to the North Central Regional Jail without incident. He is charged with Threats of Terrorist Acts.

The Bridgeport Police Department is handling the investigation. The Taylor County Sheriff’s Department is assisting.
