Route 50 has reopened following the accident with a cement truck and beer truck that shut down a portion of the road Friday morning and afternoon.

There is still no word on the condition of the two people involved in the accident that were transported to United Hospitals Center.

Two people have been transported to United Hospital Center following an accident that involved a beer truck and a cement truck on Route 50 Friday morning, 911 officials said.

Both people were transported UHC by ambulance, according to 911 officials. The area where the accident occured on Route 50 westbound still remains closed, 911 officials said. Drivers are being detoured through Old Route 50.

A vehicle accident with a beer truck and a cement truck has shut down Route 50 westbound in Harrison County. 

The accident occurred on Route 50 at the Wilsonburg light, according to 911 officials. Officials said that occupants of both vehicles were trapped in their vehicles. At this time there is no word if anyone involved in the accident has been transported to area hospitals.

The Reynoldsville Fire Department, Nutter Fort Fire Department, Bridgeport Fire Department, Harrison County EMS, Harrison County Sheriff’s Department, West Virginia State Police and West Virginia Division of Highways responded to the scene, according to 911 officials. 

The road has been shut down due to crews cleaning up debris in the roadway, including beer cans that came from the beer truck.
